About XLCubed

Integrating XLCubed with Incorta enables you to query Incorta business views and embed XLCubed published reports and charts into Incorta dashboards.

XLCubed is a standalone add-in from Fluence Technologies, used in Microsoft Excel. It helps business users create reports and dashboards and analyze and explore data without any programming experience by connecting to different data sources. You can also build pixel-perfect planning and budgeting models.

Using the XLCubed add-in, you can build several reports in Excel, such as the following:

  • Income statements
  • Budget variance analysis

Embed report into Incorta dashboard

After publishing a report on XLCubed web, you can embed it in an Incorta dashboard in two ways:

  • (Recommended) XLCubed SDK component. This way, you can interact with the published reports using XLCubed endpoints and pass prompt filters to the published reports. You can find the XLCubed component in the Component SDK marketplace.
  • Rich Text iframe. You can interact with the published reports using drill down or slicers defined in XLCubed reports. However, this option does not keep the published report in sync with Incorta filters.

XLCubed component

You can use the XLCubed component to publish reports into Incorta dashboards, creating insights. You can also configure published reports to interact with your dashboard prompts by defining some parameters in your XLCubed report and linking them to your XLCubed component insight.

Here’s how to use the XLCubed component to embed published reports:

Prerequisites

To use the XLCubed component SDK, you must have:

  • An Incorta version with Component SDK enabled
  • A published XLCubed report, with parameters configured for prompt interactivity. For more information, refer to XL3LookupTabular documentation.
Steps
  1. Log in to your Incorta account.
  2. Go to Marketplace > Components.
  3. Install the XLCubed component.
  4. Go to Content.
  5. Create a new dashboard, or use an already existing dashboard.
  6. Create a new insight. In the Analyzer, do the following:
    1. For the visual type, select XLCubed.
    2. In the Insight settings panel, change the default report URL and report path.
    3. (Optional) Specify the default tab name if you need to reveal the tabs bar in the dashboard.
    4. Drag and drop the fields you want to link with the parameters, and then specify the name for each pill.
    5. Save your insight.
